This wooden carving of the Buddha is in the Chinese style. They are hand carved from a slice of tree trunk and the shape of Although not really Buddha but an old Chinese monk who used to walk from village to village, he is always referred to as being a Buddha. He is a jolly character, always with a big tummy and bald head. he wears a necklace, highlighted with gold coloured paint.
As these buddha carvings are very much handmade, they all vary in their details but follow the same basic design.
